Zeit tone researches

Zeittöne sind außergewöhnliche Töne, deren Tonhöhe von der statischen Position des Hörer im Raum abhängt. Der Untersuchung zufolge rufen Schallquellen im Raum ein Zeittonfeld hervor, was nebst einigen Andeutungen, ob diese Raumstrukturen auch hörbar sind bzw. ein Hörer seine Position im Raum aufgrund eines derartigen Feldes auch feststellen kann, diskutiert werden. Die Arbeit untersucht auch physiologisch-akustische Aspekte. Den Anhang bildet der Beweis der Formel des Zeittonfeldes.

Ein Simulationsprogramm für Zeittöne ist Bestandteil des Forschungspakets.

Abstract:

Zeit tones are special tones, whose pitch depends on the static location of the auditor in space. According to the treatise, sound emitters cause the existence of a Zeit tone field in space, and the question is examined, if auditors could know their position in space because of the existence of such a field. Physiological/acoustical aspects are also discussed. The appendix consists of the proof of the formula of the Zeit tone field.

A simulation program for Zeit tones is part of the research package.
